Congress

The second Architects meet in Selinunte was held from 29 March to 1 April 2012 in the public buildings of Castelvetrano and in the archaeological park, under the title Partire_Tornare_Restare, and was devoted to the work of Italian architects who had settled abroad. Within that frame the Associazione Italiana di Architettura e Critica also promoted a survey of Sicilian architects under forty, shown as an exhibition of their works.

30 giovani architetti siciliani under 40

Thirty Sicilian practices whose members were born after 1972, sought out over some years by Luigi Prestinenza Puglisi with Diego Barbarelli and the publisher Francesco Trovato. The threshold was set at forty rather than thirty-five so that built works, and not designs alone, could be shown. Exhibition and catalogue had different hands: the show was curated by Giovanna Solito, the book 30<40, published by Lettera 22, was edited by Barbarelli, Trovato and Prestinenza Puglisi, and gave each practice six pages: one work, a short interview, and three keywords by which it defined itself. Antonino Cardillo exhibited the , the name the work then bore.
